Random Project Management is the non-application of processes, methods, skills, knowledge and experience to achieve specific project objectives according to the project acceptance criteria within agreed parameters. The five phases of project management including conception and initiation, planning, execution, performance/monitoring, and project close don't apply here.

One traditional approach is to define and deliver your project through distinct phases - we don't do that. Random project management is the way a person messes up and mismanages resources that are necessary to complete a project. Traditionally, project managers play the lead role in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing projects. However, Random Project Management is a poor career with bad salaries but plenty of variety at work. It's also a demanding job that can be highly stressful at times due to its randomness. Most IT random project managers have at least a Level 1 in Cookery or a more specific area, such as marketing, engineering or computer science.

This includes disagreeing with the overall goals to be achieved by the project, the objectives associated with each goal, responsibilities to achieve each objective. The best practices to ensure implementation of the plan actually start late in the planning process.
